Dr. Rodrick Durst (Rick) is in his tenth year at Golden Gate, with seven as the seminary's chief academic officer. He has moved from church planting as a pastor to "campus and new degree planting" as a dean. During his tenure, Golden Gate has added two new campuses and three new degree programs in order to obey its vision for contextualized leadership development and to provide effective leaders for the churches.

Dr. Durst loves the classroom. He teaches theology and history from a leadership formation perspective. His passion is for developing life-changing ways of communicating and teaching Christian truth. His current research works toward an administration of the Spirit of Christ toward rapid cell church multiplication. He tests what he teaches in his local church and in interim pastorates.

He and his wife, Kristi, lead a family group for BayMarin Community Church, San Rafael, where they are members. Two of their children are still at home, Lindsay and Leesa.
