Rob:
I checked out your blog (again, since
you added the Proverbs 7 hyperlink).
Looks good. Your comments were well written and
certainly
you talked to a very
a member of fbcgalt

your blog (Click

Hi Pastor Rob,
I read your web log this
morning and it was very good. I find it interesting though that this is the
second time in three weeks that I have heard mention of porn or lustful things
from a church member.
However, no one ever mentions the fact that this might affect women as
well. It seems like it is always spoken about like it only afflicts
men. As if men are the only ones who can be tempted with this particular
sin. I suppose that is because, in general, it is a guy thing but
honestly, as a woman, I struggle with my porn addiction, at the very least,
once a week.
Now this is pretty good (considering that I have been porn free now for over a
year) but it used to be a struggle everyday. I got addicted when we first
got Internet, about 6 years ago, and although it was then the
"normal" kind [soft porn], that slowly got boring and progressed into
worse, and worse types. I won't go into the kind I looked at, but it is
safe to say that I have seen everything
the internet has to offer, and it quite often was not something even my other
guy friends wanted to see.
After deciding that I should
probably take this out of my life, as it was giving me some very bad mental
thoughts, I cut out everything except one website. And then much later, I
made the huge sacrifice of getting rid of that too. Let me tell you, that
was hard. I wanted to go there everyday but I
didn’t (and I have not been back there)!
So, I guess the whole point of this was just to let you in on the fact that
there are women out there too who get caught up in this stuff, sometimes, as in
my case, much worse then most. Luckily, I was able to recognize that I
had gone too far. Obviously, this is not the kind of topic one usually
brings up in Sunday School, or at my church but I
thought that it might give you something to think about (when you are thinking
up your ideas that you mentioned in your blog).
That way, maybe they could include women as well. I think sometimes we
are forgotten in the discussion.
A Reader
