Barry Stricker
Barry has been a member of Tiburon Baptist Church
since 1979. He was called to pastor in 1993. His main areas of ministry
responsibility include preaching, teaching, and pastoral care. Barry is married
to Julie, and they have two children, Eric and Molly.
Barry first came to
TBC as a seminary student. During his student days, he served as a Bible study
teacher, choir member, deacon, and a member of several committees. Upon
receiving his theological degrees, Barry became a faculty member at Golden Gate
Baptist Theological Seminary. During that time, he continued to be active in his
church ministry. Then, fourteen years after first becoming a part of the TBC
family , the church asked Barry to consider a call to pastor. This invitation
was a surprise to most everyone involved -- but God's call was unmistakable and
clear. Barry resigned from his teaching responsibilities at the seminary and
began his service as pastor in June of 1993.
Barry was born in Kentucky
and graduated from high school in Louisville. He received his B.A. from Harvard
University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and his M.Div. and Ph.D. from Golden
Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Mill Valley, California.
